Better to be Nuked!

.
Yes I know that thousands died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Tens of thousands also died in our fire bombing of German cities, so we didn't discriminate. These photos do say a lot about how Detroit has been mismanaged by utterly incompetent liberals. Other cities in America that are currently being controlled by liberals are headed toward Detroit's apparent end also. You can go live in one of those proziburgs if you want. I wouldn't.

Best man for the High Sheriff

Jackson County NC Sheriff Chief Deputy Chip Hall
It is factual that Chip Hall is a good man in many ways. He's a religious man and from what we've seen a faithful and good member of Webster Baptist Church. Unfortunately he's been under the shadow of his boss for too long and leadership in the county's most powerful elected position will not come easily for him; and if, and I say if he wins Hall will have to go the extra ten miles to earn mine and the average citizen's trust. In regards to the the third-in-command in the department you've no doubt read about his problems with alcohol and consequent marital struggles. We understand that he's a good man also. Our suggestion to him is "put the plug in the jug" and get and work a spiritual program before there's no turning back.
Considering the many upheavals that the Jackson County Sheriff's Department has undergone over the last decade and the fact that the top three men are, or should be retiring to spend more time with their families and enjoy life and help others on a volunteer basis

Curtis Lambert--Best Man for High Sheriff
we can only recommend Curtis Lambert as the true candidate for change--good change--the one man best suited to lead Jackson County and Western North Carolina into and through an uncertain future. Vote Curtis Lambert for Jackson County Sheriff on Tuesday November 4.

Sad Chapter

This whole sad chapter (one of many) involving the Jackson County Sheriff's Department over the past several years; the most recent of which involves the underage drinking, use of illegal drugs,
and the rape of a fourteen year old girl at a Sylva business (Dillard Excavating) on Friday October 25 while there were Sheriff's department personnel present and seemingly willingly participating is devastating.
The sheriff's department personnel involved could have been (may very well have been) drinking and using drugs with your child or somebody that you know's child.

Sheriff Jimmy Ashe is wisely retiring now and we applaud him for it. I voted for Jimmy every time he ran, especially to get that crook Cruzan out of office. Unfortunately the promise (not talking campaign promises here) of something new and better--a real and trust-worthy leader never fully materialized. Folks, if you know anything about what's been going on with the JC Sheriff's Dept. over the past few years and the different 'troubles' that the department has experienced then you know I'm being generous. This story has 'legs' as they say in the news business. Stay tuned...

CDC has been lying to us the whole time!

CDC admits droplets from a sneeze could spread Ebola
"Ebola is a lot easier to catch than health officials have admitted — and can be contracted by contact with a doorknob contaminated by a sneeze from an infected person an hour or more before, experts told The Post Tuesday." more here
I guess that they are just trying to emulate their leader, the clown-in-chief and just like him, getting caught--LYING!

NC Dodges Bullet?

From WRAL:
— A patient at Duke University Hospital who developed a fever Sunday after returning from Liberia tested negative Monday morning for Ebola, state health officials said.
Read down into the story. Even if it is over (for now), what about the next time--taxi ride and all?

The Appalachian Redoubt--Learn it, Live it, Love it!

Popcorn Sutton
Its only been a few years since Popcorn Sutton decided to croak himself rather than report to the federal pen on a moon-shining conviction. For those of us who were born and/or raised here we know that the mountains of Appalachia (pronounced ap-uh-latch-ya) are not a place that you want to go if you're not prepared for some hard-assed conditions where every decision that you make can make the difference whether you survive or not.
Appalachian Redoubt-Patriot stronghold
These days a lot of folks are calling Appalachia the "Appalachian Redoubt" no doubt figuring that when the North American live-fire exercises get rolling that the nooks and crannys in the southern mountains will be great places for Patriots to hide out in.
Eric Rudolph in better days
Eric Rudolph managed to hide out successfully from the feds for years, only getting busted by chance by a Cherokee County rookie deputy sheriff while dumpster-diving out of the back of a grocery store in Andrews North Carolina.
Here in southern Appalachia things have changed, yet many things haven't changed in the few short years since I was a kid. If you peruse the flea markets (Uncle Bill's is a big flea market in between Dillsboro and Whittier on US 441) you can see all sorts of interesting artifacts. 'Turons' love 'authentic hillbilly' stuff and are quick to shell out good money for trinkets that us local-yokels just laugh about.
Then there's the folks who come to train--you did know about the US Army Camp Frank D. Merrill training area just outside of Dahlonega GA where Rangers and SF train to do the real deal just off the Appalachian Trail didn't you?
WNC Patriots-2nd Bgd., 1st Btn.
And Patriots come to train also.
From Ivey Mike lessons learned: "I spent some time backpacking in the Appalachian Redoubt last week. It was a remote area well off the AT in peak Black Bear country, with barely maintained trails full of Rhododendron that criss-crossed boulder-filled waterways that ranged from ankle to chest deep." more here
